1. Who We Are

BuddyBlink ("we", "us", "our") operates the BuddyBlink application. We are the data controller for personal data collected through this app.

2. What Data We Collect

3. Third-Party Processors

We share minimal data with these processors to deliver the service:

4. Emergency Contact Data

When you add an emergency contact, you are acting as a data controller for that contact's personal data. By adding a contact, you confirm that you have a lawful basis to store and use their contact details for the purpose of receiving safety alerts on your behalf.

5. Data Retention

Your data is retained until you delete your account. When you delete your account via the app (Settings > Delete Account), all your data — including contacts, triggers, check-in history, and notification logs — is permanently deleted within 30 days.

Check-in history is automatically cleaned up after 7 days as part of normal operation.

6. Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are located in the EU/UK, you have the right to:

  • Access: View your personal data in the app (profile, contacts, triggers)
  • Rectification: Update your name or email via Settings > Profile
  • Erasure: Delete your account and all data via Settings > Delete Account
  • Portability: Contact support@buddyblink.app to request a copy of your data in machine-readable format
  • Lodge a complaint: Contact your local data protection authority

7. Security

Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS. We do not store payment card data — all payment processing is handled by Google Play and RevenueCat.

8. Children

This app is not intended for users under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

9. Changes

We will notify you of material changes to this policy via in-app notice or email. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
